A proposed contract between the University of Georgia, the University of Florida, and the city of Jacksonville is attempting to brand the annual college football game, thereby allowing both schools and the long-time host city of their traditional rivalry game to secure the rights to branded promotional products, sponsorship deals, and other advertising efforts. The details of the contract are still being ironed out, and it may not even take effect. If the deal does go through, both schools, as well as the city of Jacksonville, stand to profit immensely from the sales of promotional products and college football paraphernalia.

“Go Fly a Kite…” and Related Promotional Products
Breezy spring weather will soon be gone and summer heat will take its place, so you should act now to take advantage of promotional products like kites, which require wind power to function properly. Other items well suited for spring breezes are car flags and windbreakers. Create a spring gift set perfect for picnics by coupling several of these items with imprinted kites to encourage recipients to venture into the outdoors during their leisure time. Your brand’s name and logo will be prominently displayed on the family-oriented promotional products, thereby illustrating your emphasis on work-life balance among your constituents.

Promotional products for grilling and chilling
There is nothing better than grilling and eating outside when the weather is pleasant and warm. There are plenty of promotional products to complement your day out as well. I recently purchased a new grill and have been super excited to use it. The only things missing are the grilling utensils. Surprisingly enough our industry has promotional products of just that. Not only are grilling kits available, but also aprons that even have a beverage holder so the grill master never loses their drink while hard at work cooking up delicious burgers and dogs. So get out there and grill on.
Promotional products for the dog park
This weekend in Atlanta a local radio station is throwing its'5th Annual Woofstock. Promotional products are gonna be all over the place with all the sponsors who will attend. Of course, being in Atlanta at the beginning of Summer, it will surely be hot outside. So to help quench your pup’s thirst a new promotional product has been introduced, a K-9 stainless water bottle made specifically for dogs to drink from. It is a really great innovation that makes it convenient to have cool water for your pet on the go, it is so nice you might mistake it for your own.

promotional products make meetings more productive
Fast Company has some great tips for how to avoid unnecessarily long and boring work meetings.
--Don't go unless you need to be there.
--Take all the chairs out of the room so that people stand instead of sit. It makes everyone more productive.
--If you are required to attend a meeting in which you really are not relevant, bring a notebook so that you can work on something else.
Promotional products make offices run better. Other promotional products that increase productivity:
-clocks, so that you can see how much time you are spending on each task or point in the meeting agenda
--office supplies like pens, staplers, scissors and tape that prevent people from having to conduct a long search every time they need something
What promotional products might make a difference at your company?

Promotional Products for Cool Summer Mornings
Here in Georgia, the weather never ceases to amaze and astound me. It figures that no sooner would I have written about the hottest promotional products of the summer and 90+ degree weather, that a cold front would move in bringing lower than average temperatures. It is times like these when I realize the necessity for promotional sweaters and blankets. While the days are much too warm for a winter coat, having cooler-weather promotional products like sweaters and blankets on hand for those cooler mornings and nights is a must. You would think I would expect a roller coaster ride of temperature changes each and every spring, but I think I just get too excited about the promise of sun, sand and the heat of the summer!

Taking Steps – and Promotional Products - for Crohn’s & Colitis
This coming Saturday (May 17, 2010) I am “Taking Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis” to help build visibility and awareness for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, while raising funds for the fight against these digestive diseases that affect one in every 200 Americans. Donations go to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) and will help support local patient programs, national research for finding cures – and me score CCFA promotional products.
While fundraising efforts should be made out of genuine support for the cause, a little promotional incentives never hurt, especially for non-profit organizations whose financial support comes mainly from donations.
You can show your support (and help me raise funds!) by going to http://online.ccfa.org/site/PageServer?pagename=TS_participant_search and typing in Jaime Weinstein.

Promotional Products for Casual Fridays at the Office
Most companies enforce a policy of casual Fridays, but in order to excite and enthuse workers even further, consider holding an internal promotional products campaign revolving around laid-back Friday rituals. Starting today, on the first Friday of Summer months, my company plans to host an outdoor barbecue for employees. In addition to dressing more casually on Fridays, now we can look forward to spending time dining in the sunshine with our coworkers. Giving staff members promotional products like t-shirts and/or flip-flops with a catchy tagline about “Fun Fridays” could publicize our vibrant, cool company culture to the surrounding community.

promotional products for kids
Seeing this post on Cool Hunting today about Gilt and Threadless joining forces to produce a new kids line reminded me that kids love promotional products more than anyone.
I remember going to construction industry trade shows with my step dad as a kid and getting completely stoked about the free carpenter's pencils the booths were giving away. I collected every free promotional product I could get my little hands on. Of course, I was most drawn to the booths with stuff that appealed to kids, like candy. I wonder if my step dad would have visited those booths if it weren't for my tugging.
When you appeal to kids, you appeal to their parents. How can you plan your promotional products with this in mind?

Promotional products at the NBA playoffs
It is NBA playoffs time again and what could go better with that than promotional products. Major advertisers spend big bucks during the playoffs to promote their brands and logos are plastered on everything from the players’ water cups to the towels they wipe their sweat off with. Of course the fans normally take home promotional products as well when they attend the games. Cheerleaders and mascots throw out t-shirts and there are often door prizes for the fans as they enter the arenas. I even have a playoff rally towel for supporting our Atlanta Hawks in the first round.

Promotional Products to Promote Delicious Treats
As the weather heats up in cities across the country, ice cream sales are increasing and companies in the food and beverage industry can distribute promotional products to ensure that they garner their fair share of sales. To me, there is nothing as refreshing as a frozen treat to cool down during the hot summer months; from ice cream to frozen yogurt and even Popsicles or Italian ice, I love it all. So, how do I decide which local shop to patron? Promotional products such as a magnet that I can stick to my refrigerator or even something larger (take note of this stuffed animal imprinted with Rita’s Water Ice logo) keep companies at the top of my mind and help me make important decisions when it comes to frozen treats.
